Aims

After more than 24 years of regular meetings of the Swiss Neonatology Group, the Swiss Society of Neonatology was founded in 1995.

The society’s goals are to foster neonatology in Switzerland, improve the quality of neonatal care and represent the interests of newborn infants in the public. The society also defines and supervises training in neonatology and supports continuous medical education of its members. The society stimulates research in neonatology and maintains professional contacts with related medical specialities, particularly with the field of perinatology, as well as foreign medical societies with comparable goals.

Membership application

Membership in the society is open to all physicians, nurses, midwives and allied health care professionals regularly involved in the care of neonates.

Membership fees

CHF 200.00 : Ordinary Member - specialist physician, paediatricians FMH (or equivalent foreign qualification) working in Switzerland, provided that they are regularly involved in the medical care of newborns.

CHF 100.00 : Ordinary Member - nurses, midwives, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals working in Switzerland and primarily engaged in the care of newborns. 

CHF 100.00 : Extraordinary Member - doctors who do not meet the conditions for ordinary membership, as well as representatives of non-profit parents' associations in the field of neonatology.
